SCHOLL PROGRAMME |

• A joint programme with the Department of Education
• Each year ten selected schools cover by this programme
• Train grade 9,10,11 students as peer counselors
• Establishment of student counselors association
• WDC realizes that children often found it easier to confide in their friends and it is often through them that they come to the teacher
• Awareness creation of HIV/AIDS is one of the activities of the school programme

This programme reaches out to rural and vulnerable communities through the following training awareness programme
• Community Health Volunteers trained every year
• Subjects for training include –
• Primary Health Awareness, Nutrition programmes, Poly clinics, HIV/AIDS prevention, drug awareness etc.
• Later training includes women & child rights, legal literacy, leadership development
• Working closely with health professionals at local level
• AIDS Prevention Programme and alternative employment for Commercial Sex Workers
• Cross-cutting Training Programmes
